The 2019 year started with a gathering at the Lismore Community Hall. The Lismore Garden Club invited us to attend a presentation by Arthur Haskins highlighting his trip to the Dahlia Show at Longwood Gardens.
It was decided not to have a Plant Sale this year, and at the May meeting there was a member to member plant swap. A lot of plants got new homes.
We had our annual BBQ/Potluck at Yvonne Maas'. Lots of great food and conversation, all set in the beautiful Maas garden.
In late July, we had a great tour of the Lochaber Growers gardens. It was an impressive display of vegetable growing.
A few attended the 80th Anniversary Party for the Pictou & Area Garden Club.
Kristine Swaren gave a talk on "Growing Great Garlic" in September. In October, we made festive Fall Arrangements as well as attending the Fall Rally in Pictou. Bob Bancroft was our guest in November. Our Christmas gathering was well attended and hosted by Cordis MacDonald.
